7/27/21 fishing report

the last 10 or so trips have all been about 50/50 inshore/offshore with a good success on both ends. Multiple offshore species on fly and live bait..

False albacore on fly

stuart fishing has been absolutely stunning almost too easy at times… in Alaska we get bored catching 20+ inch trout all day and customers want to change it up and do something different. That is exactly what’s going on in Stuart right now. Non stop snook and big jacks inshore so to change it up we’ve been going after goliath grouper, false albacore/bonita and sailfish. The occasional Cobia just started showing up and the barracuda are always waiting at the Shallowater reefs. Lately I’ve been running a lot of fly fishing trips I really enjoy loading up the live well full of really small pilchards and running offshore and live charming and see if we can get into lately it’s been a lot a false albacore/bonita in the 5-25 pound range but last Thursday the sail fish were so thick in any direction you looked they were sails sticking out of the water like sharks fins. It was absolutely crazy. The weather all week looks perfect to continue this momentum….

Blacktip spinner sharks And tarpon have been in the inlet on both tides. Just Fishing live mullet on a free line has been extremely productive they don’t last but 1-2 cast before something eats it. A lot of big snook in and around the inlet. The smaller pilchards from Jake the bait guy “+1 (772) 263-3097” have been working perfect.
the best snook of the week came by fly though 20 pound 34” snook under a boat with a 8wt rod the fish took a white fly fished really slow!

most of my fish have come from 90-140’ of water or on Shallowater reefs we missed a few big permit bites last week also always a heartbreaker!
I have open date if you want to fish give me a call/text and let’s set it up… 772-267-0095
