Fishing has been Super steady inshore … lots of fish. Amazing snook fishing. Good jacks . And some bigger mangrove snapper. Plus there been a good trout bite south of Jensen beach.

SNOOK.
Basically I’m fishing from the $.10 Bridge Out to the inlet and back to the $.25 bridge if you go north of either bridge you’re pretty much wasting your time. Buying my bait in the morning for Mr. Jake cross +1 (772) 263-3097 that is his phone number if anyone wants to get a hold of him. Starting my mornings about 6:30am typically I go to the farthest spot I am going to fish,Tide dependent and work my way towards the inlet so I stay almost on the exact tide the entire fishing trip. Fishing 15 pound braid with a 50 pound Mono liter about 4’ long. . Into a 5/0 circle hooks with a green owner soft bead so the bait does not hook itself. Typically skipping the baits underneath the docks fishing with a high rod tip waiting to get slammed. This is always on the upside of the dock into the tide. . Also skipping the baits against sport fish boats that typically never move typically the rear end towards the running gear is always the hotspot. The inlet there’s fish on the detached jetty along with both north and south jetties. Again this is still just live bait fishing with 3-4” pilchards.

Trout

there has always been some trout south of the Jensen causeway. I typically try to attack the mangroves and fish soft plastics like DOA and gulps in light colors fishing 25lb fluorocarbon leaders on 15lb fast action rods. Working them in a jig like motions typically with the lead jig head. You can do the same technique with live shrimp and get the exact same results. Don’t be surprised to have a buy catch of bluefish, flounders. and ladyfish with the occasional Redfish..

JACKS

my Jack Fishing Is almost 100% the buy catch of me snook fishing but if I really want to Focus on just Jack’s I typically Fish live mullet against the Sewalls and on much heavier tackle typically fish 80 pound leaders With a 40 to 60 pound mainline. On an extremely tight drag so I can keep them away from all the poles/docks..the Southpoint and old St. Lucie Sewalls typically have been the Hotspot.

FLY FISHING

Fishing 9wt rods with a clear floating intermediate tipped line and Smalller White flies . Typically on a pretty steady retrieve we’re not very much pause. to almost any pause at all. I switch over to a full floating line for nighttime fishing with the exact same flies. Fishing a 30lb bite Tippett on a 8-12’ leader …

👆👆 that is the 4th sawfish I have landed in Stuart for 2021 🤘

So if you would like to book a trip in the near future please give me a call.. 772-267-0095 we should be getting a really good tarpon push, there’s some around right now but I would really like to see more people book that trip it’s been a super fun trip. Snook Fishing Should stay really good throughout August.
