April fishing report!

Well, here’s the news that everybody has been asking about!

The permit are here and feeding on crabs. Ray and I made our way out and got into a school of permit off the beach hooking 4 and landing two we hooked what might have been 2 more but lost them so fast it was hard to really know! On our way to the permit fishing grounds we ran across numerous school of Jacks! We both cast to very large trophy size jacks and played keep away with the fish reeling so fast to almost try to not let them eat the poppers Super fun stuff to watch!

The Snook fishing has been fantastic. With the last few days as the exception. We had the back side of the moon. Poor tides high winds and an offshore Coldwater upwelling really messing with the fishing the last 4 days now. Other then that the fishing been fantastic all month of April. Bait has been primarily at night around the bridges, throwing a big 10 or 12 foot cabinet on the shadow lines and loading up really early or really late at night

We are seeing larger than normal fish for this time of the year with some really big studs in the mix. May,June are peek times for big snook

The Night time bridge fishing has been fantastic! Mostly going for big fish with mullet or crockers for bait.

Also seeing world record size Fat snook

Upcoming events! I have a booth at the Maggie Valley Fly Fishing festival . in Maggie Valley North Carolina. Father’s Day weekend if anybody would like to come up and go Trout Fishing I am taking the week off before the weekend of Father’s Day just to go trout fishing and enjoy the downtime with my family.

May June, July, and even the beginning of August can be absolutely peak months!
